As a Rajnikanth fan from the time I was too young to even pronounce his name correctly to now, I can't see anyone else singing his songs but the original. Ajith may have done a good job, and I won't start a debate on whether he's a good actor/singer or not, but to me, Rajnikanth is the only one I can see as Billa, Arunachalam, or any of those classics.

because there is no rule that states a thala must be replaced with another thala because of lack of simultaneous harmony... there can exists many thalas.

Rajni can't do what Ajith does, and Ajith can't do what Rajni does. Can't really compare these two, but movie wise, well, Rajni is far far better. Let's leave it at that.
