@matt605 Many a man has had to trust his horse to pick the right trail when conditions were bad. And not just horses but other animals have saved a man's hide when the going got tough. Look up the name "Balto" some day as an example.

I do not hear a "g" in the word "change" in the last verse. I've always know this lyric to be "as how I'd make a chain." Why must "Dan" guide him?
