It's not different from DDR. In fact, PIU is better for freestyling than DDR. If you can freestyle on DDR you can easily transition to PIU :D

yeah i just cant play PIU at all. Tried several times. I freestyle on ddr sometimes, but I still can't play PIU. Anyway, great moves on the vid!
