"And Jesus as, um, well it's just crazy"...a.k.a I haven't read the book and I've no idea how Young portrays Jesus! "You will never stand before God and cuss at him." I've had times when I am hurt and angry, I scream at God with my frustration, God wants me to be real with him. He doesn't want me to approach him afraid, if I did then I wouldn't ever let Him lead me to the path of healing! "Greater love has No-one than this that He lay down His life for His friends" Yes I am His friend!!!

Haha I go to catholic school and we read this for Summer reading for our religion class. My first day is tomorrow and I have a whole notebook of chapter summaries and an overall review to turn in. I found it alright. I don't feel like it's religiously bad. My Comments on the video: Jesus, God, and Holy Spirit SHOULD be like your friends BTW. And the only reason God was a black lady was to get rid of religious stereotypes. Have you read the book? I feel closer to God after reading this.

It kills me that so many Christians are knocking this book... its a book... it doesn't claim to be the GOSPEL but rather has done a very good job of helping non christians understand GOD, the TRINITY which is hard even for a christian to understand... and you know what... Who knows if GOD isn't a Black Woman.. or the holy spirit and Asian... or Jesus even GAY...get a grip you people... the Shack and the BIBLE are all about forgiveness and unconditional LOVE which the cHURCH is not doing !

The Shack does not say God is an African American woman (SPOILER ALERT) God revealed himself to Mack as this woman due to his spoiled relationship to his dad earlier in his life. Later on He presents himself as a father after he reconciles himself to his father. God chooses to manifest himself in many different ways. He choose to present himself to Mack as an African American woman because that is what would help in his healing.

I respect this Pastor, however he is totally missing the point. It's a work of FICTION. Like songs and poetry and paintings and you name it, this is art. This is one guys fictional work. He wasn't trying to re-write the Bible.

People get so confused saying "This book is so terrible. It portrayed God as a african-american women." No, in the book God was only portrayed as that so that Mackenzie was stepped out of what society had portrayed God to be. This book is actually a great explanation of God and Jesus, in my opinion. I love this book. And as for cussing, God loves you unconditionally. God can hear your thoughts, he knows them. So why not just say it? Hewas angry. He was being honest with God.

I'm confused regarding Idolatry in the book. Are we creating a God to better suit our own feelings and emotions?

Why some people feel better than another ones. I can't understand why we can't forgive like Jesus and act like brothers and sisters. I totally disagree with this video and I advise Pastor Bob to search for help to be a God's friend and not his enemy.

I find "The Shack" a new version of "Good Morning, Holy Spirit". The only difference between them is: "The Shack" is unreal and the Benny Hinn's one is totally real. However, I can't understand why some people wanna search for distorts in "The Shack", principally with prejudices. Look! Why can my God not be black? My papa can transfigurate himself whatever he wants. No one can say how must to be God, because who is his friend feel that deeply in heart.
