  • you forgot to credit Anna Gonda as Margret

  • Glaring omission, indeed. Fixed.

  • Hated this opera for the longest time. Then some how it starts to get to you. It's probably the best opera of the twentieth century.

  • Awesome

  • @P1B1U1H1 It's not casual listening for me, but I think it's very interesting. The music is quite mad.

  • @P1B1U1H1 if it only would be dark enough

  • Viva Adorno!!

  • Abbado is the man.

  • Somehow, Puccini always seemed to be nineteenth century opera, notwithstanding the actual dates. Agree with Janacek; two of his operas, Katya and Jenufa seem superior to Wozzeck to me.

Strauss, on the other hand, bores me to no end.

  • For me, it gripped me right at the start, it's so intense, it's all about acting and inventive music. It's disturbing, haunting, and it's so mad I only could love it.

  • Yes, wozzeck is the best opera after Puccini's, Strauss' and Janacek's works

  • no it isnt by any standards

  • You sang that role!! I'm deeply impressed. Berg AIN'T easy.
