This song is sooo sad. I have cried soo many times whan i heard this. Every dolly pardon song i have ever heard has made me cry!!!!!

I agree with a previous post, the word are close enough to right, but the tune is WRONG! At least not the same as I always heard it!

Thinking back farther, my mother had the words to this song written, in her mother's handwriting --- so the song is quite old.

dolly does a great job of singing this -- but the words are older than she is. My mother sang them to me when I was a child......
One of the saddest songs in Country. Dolly Sings it best, and the steel guitar wailing in the background is great.

im so happy to finally find this song!!!!! i remembered my mom listening to this when i was young and i always sang it! but ive never been able to find a copy of it, thank you!!!

Not the best version, I'm sorry to say 'cos I love Dolly. She's got the words near enough, but the wrong tune. Try Philomena Quinn's version.
