Mandy, thank you so much for being a singer. My younger sister is going deaf, she wants to be a singer, and she is convinced she can't. I want to show her that being deaf isn't the end, that it isn't a bad thing - she is simply different, like some people have red hair, others have black hair. Thank you!

What a beautiful video and a beautiful spirit, Mandy. Your blending of video, stills, and quotes is truly poetic. One of my favorite moments in this recording is that little emotional spot where your voice breaks a bit on "You'll get by" and then you continue with a strong resilient voice. It gets me every time! It was a very honest moment in the studio and no one wanted you to record it again to make it perfect...because life isn't perfect. You get by.

Mandy, I am deaf too. But I wasn't deaf all my life. I still remember what music truly sounds like. I have hearing aids, but th\ey only let me hear so much. I want to sing well and play an instrument. My imagination and memories of music is what I rely on when I try to sing. I've been told I sing like a drunk sailor, tht I can't sing, and that I CAN sing. I haven't given up on trying. God has blessed you.
