For the record I don't think attachment to friends or family is quite the same as enjoying cars or houses.

@rdor011 Not at all! Piper teaches that these are given to you as gifts, so that you might worship God. Paul writes that nothing is evil in and of itself. Here, Piper illustrates that if it comes down to Jesus or Family, Jesus must come first. God tempts no one. That is the work of Satan.
