Phil Hartman audition

Ah i've just recently got into NewsRadio. I miss him!

if he didnt die there most likely would of been a live action troy McClure movie

He's definitely brilliant as his audition shows but if I had one criticism I'd say he should have got off the stage sooner. It's like he realized how well he did and then he wanted to do even more. Although he did show he could work on the spot with other people when Lovitz came on. Was Lovitz already on the show and came on stage or were they auditioning together or what?

Lovitz had been on a full season before Phil joined SNL

So, Lovitz start the 85-86 season,
and Phil the 86-87 season

That German impressionist routine would be too advanced for normal people.

Great audition - superb. Miss him. Why couldn't it have been Will Ferrell?

The German Nicholson was genius, did Phil write all his own stuff?

total genius, but they probably aren't laughing because of the environment they were in. a few people watching an audition don't behave the same way they would if they were watching something to laugh

unfortunently the comment above yours in 'show all comments' is 'he was murdered'

which makes phrases like 'he's bulletproof' and 'dying' .....dire
