When I drive out to Dripping Springs I always feel like I'm almost there when I see the Nutty Brown Cafe Cowboy sign. When I'm driving back home I feel like I am almost there when I see the sign again. They have a parking lot that is pretty much a beaten down pasture but it works for me. Their stage rivals the old, now defunct, Backyard. The Bloody Mary I had six months ago was made with Clamato Juice and almost made me gag. They must have changed their recipe because a friend ordered a second one and said it was really good. I drank Margaritas, since it was Sunday Morning and I needed my vitamin C. They serve food but even the manager says they are primarily a music venue. I read that part in the Austin American Statesman.
