Would you recommend this car? I've heard a lot of bad things about them burning oil and a clogged cat problem. But I've always heard that for the price, there isn't a finer driving experience than perhaps a Mazda Rx8

It's a stock 1ZZ with a custom exhaust. I would definitely recommend getting one! The pre-cat problem can easily be avoided by either removing them or getting headers, then there's no issue at all. 2000-20002 are affected and mine is an '02, it's got 106K miles and still running strong, with lots of track time too.

That concrete barrier (@ 1:37 among other places) looks dangerous as hell! Not much leeway in case of a mistake, and accident there could be serious. Did you guys have a safety steward?

It's just the local track's lax autocross event, so no. They stress to drive within your limits and remind you of the walls every time. We all understand this and accept the risks. Most people don't push as hard as I do, I just can't help it! I go here because I get a lot more track time compared to other autocrosses.
