A pika comes close at ~13,000 feet on Quandry Peak in Colorado. Pikas are at risk of extinction as a result of climate change. The mountaintops they live on are, in effect, islands in the sky. They don't tolerate warm temperatures so there's nowhere to go but up, up and, eventually, away. Sadly, pikas were denied protection under the endangered species act: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35243707/ns/us_news-environment/

  • @1CoolDudeMe Pika are related to rabbits and are lagomorphs, not rodents like hamsters.

  • Related to Hamster?

  • Thanks for sharing! She's so cute :) Makes me feel like I'm up on the mountain too...

  • Don't worry they will evolve and grow wings.
