Biography:
After an eventful and hectic year Christine Guldbrandsen (21) releases her third album, "Christine". For the first two albums, "Surfing in the Air" and "Moments", she sang English texts, but this time she has favoured Norwegian. Also musically there are strong shades of Norwegian colour in the material.




The songs on this album travel across a wide range of styles, from low key ballads with choir and piano to richly coloured soundscapes painted with broad strokes. Christine has written several of the songs in collaboration with her creative team. Among these is "Alvedansen" ("Elves´ Dance", Norway´s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest). This popular song has been reworked for the album with a more open and transparent sound than on the E.S.C. version. "It was important for me to renew Alvedansen for the album", says Christine. "Taking part in E.S.C was a fantastic experience and a unique opportunity to reach a large audience across Europe , but that part of my life is behind me now. And it therefore felt very appropriate for the album that we took a fresh approach to Alvedansen".

Apart from one Norwegian folk song the rest of the album´s contents are newly written. And every song is crafted with Christine´s unique voice in mind. Christine is involved at every phase of song writing, and has also co-produced the album. "It´s unthinkable for me not to be an integral part of the recording process. The album becomes a very important part of me, and by playing an active role in the whole creative process, the end product is very much my own."




Christine´s life is now devoted to music. Her work is divided between studio work, concerts, events, and the day to day administration of her career. "I try to participate actively in every aspect of my singing career, including the office work, both because it teaches me a lot about my business, and because I feel it is the right way for me to do things".




When describing her private life Christine regards herself very much as a normal girl with normal interests. Her leisure time is divided between family, friends and daily chores. But her focus on her career and the new album hasn´t allowed her much free time recently. "It is a sacrifice I make willingly. Music is an immensely important part of who I am; I can´t imagine a life without the possibility to express myself in music and song - it would be empty and colourless. I always feel deeply grateful for the privilege of being able to share music with others through song".

MY GOODNESS!!! She sang it better than in Athens (stupid person in the sound control had the 2nd voice louder than Christine!!!)!!! This vocal, and Athens' stage, performance were the BEST!!!

Norway and Poland were the best on ESC 2006. Christine has got an amazing voice, but I almost didn´t hear her in this video.
