  • The song is Lynard Syknards Free Bird. ITs sort of Ironic though becouse that band had a tragic airplane accident in the 70's killing several band members. And most videos of their crash sight play this song as well.

  • I didn't know that. The irony was not intended.

  • i was there and i witnessed it firsthand. i was forcing myself to believe that he had did a low flyby and flew away to another airport, but i could not hide the truth forever :'(

  • I was at this show the day Jim died. He was an exciting performer and an even better person. Semper Fi, Jim, and thanks for the memories.

  • @stejensen I would wanna die doing what I loved too, great pilot good skills

  • Jim was my aerobatic instructor and he was a great man...a mans job or profession does not necessarily make the man...yes he was a marine...yes he was a university graduate...yes he was husband...and yes a Father...and in fact, a great man with exceptional character as I have met many men and have yet to meet anyone with the integrity of Jim...He taught me how to be a good pilot and better yet...the elements of a good man.

    RIP my brother... and Godspeed.
