John Levell Starks (born August 10, 1965 in Tulsa, Oklahoma) is an American former basketball player who gained fame while playing at shooting guard for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association in the 1990s. Starks was listed at 6'5" during his NBA playing career.

Starks was at the center of one of the most famous plays in Knick history. During a 1993 playoffs series against the Chicago Bulls, Starks was in the right corner of the court being closely guarded by B.J. Armstrong. Ewing came to set a screen for Starks, who faked to the left like he was going to use the pick, and then fiercely drove along the baseline and dunked over the much taller Horace Grant as well as Michael Jordan.

One of the low points of Starks' career came in the 1994 NBA Finals against the Houston Rockets. The Knicks had taken a 3-2 lead into Game 6, and in the last second, Starks had the chance to sink a three point shot that would have won the Series. His shot was rejected by Rockets center Hakeem Olajuwon and the Rockets won the game. In Game 7, Starks shot 2-for-18 from the field, contributing to the Knicks' loss to the Rockets.

  • John Starks bro, the knicks will never ever have another shooting guard like John, he made me a knick fan. One time for Starks man.

  • My favorite player ever. He was a flawed players, but always played with heart. He had so much loyalty to the Knicks too. Love the fact that he didn't want to play for the Bulls just on principal after he was traded.

  • @GialloHorror Actually I am a parent and I have my own basement, thank you! Don't talk to me about freinds or education when you're talking shyt on Youtube trying to live out a fantasy of being a so-called tough guy likeyour booty partner John "Pussyasspuckshootingmyteamoutofgamesandgettingejectedfromcriticalgames" Starks! You don't scare a flea!

  • @SIGMAMAN69 I am grown up. And I don't choose to be like anyone else. I wouldn't need to play bodyguard for Starks. The dude can handle his own.

"I wish I would meet your ass for real and we'd know for sure who the real internet tough guy is"

LOL! Yeah, whatever you say, internet tough guy. Keep making thsoe empty, interthreats.

You're 42 years old LMAO! Act like it. Probably single, still live with your parents, and have no friends or education. Loser

  • @GialloHorror I get it now, you want to be John Starks when you grow up. I guess playing bodyguard for him now is how you fulfill your fantasies of being a punk ass jerk like him I wish I would meet your ass for real and we'd know for sure who the real internet tough guy is!

  • @SIGMAMAN69 Christ all mighty, grow up. "Wanna say that to my face?" LOL! Calm down old man. But let it be known I would say it to your face, and you wouldn't do shit about it, internet tough guy

  • @GialloHorror Wanna say that to my face? You're a pussy just like your booty partner John Starks!

  • @SIGMAMAN69 Starks was a pussy? LMAO!! LOOOOOL! Mother fucker you're a PUSSY.

Starks had more heart, and guts than anyone in the NBA. That dude came from nowhere, and made himself into an All-Star.

What have you done? Oh yeah, NOTHING. And you can't say what you would'ev or wouldn't have done. You've never been in that situation.

Game 7? Yeah, bad game. It doesn't even go 7 games without Starks's efforts in games 2-6

  • @Shojahan It's actually 2-18 but who's counting. He actually went 3-18 in game 1 as well, but he OWNED the 4th quarter in games 2-6.

Had Olajuwon not gotten lucky and got his fingertips on Starks's 3 pointer at the buzzer in game 6, Starks would've never had a "game 7" and the man would be remembered as the person who won The Knicks 1st championship since 72-73, instead of that 2-18.

Starks was the man! Still is the man!

  • @VeoShock 2-17. If you're Knicks fan, you know what I'm talking about.

  • @nicolewins I don't have any rings. The difference. I would not have gotten myself ejected from crucial games doing dumb things or have bricked my team out of a game 7. John Starks was a pussy and a punk and a straight up liability.
