The pineapple can be eaten on its own or used to make fabulous desserts, but you need to spend a few minutes peeling it: learn how to peel and cut a pineapple on the cooking tutorial by YellowSaffron.

The pineapple can be eaten on its own or used to decorate or enrich desserts. For any of these uses, you need to spend a few minutes peeling it.
Let's see how to do.You can tell that a pineapple is ripe if the rind is more yellow than green.
First of all, cut off the leafy top and the base.
Stand the pineapple up and slice away the rind from top to bottom.
With a paring knife or the end of a peeler, remove any remaining brown eyes.
Holding the pineapple upright, cut in half, and then half again, to get quarters.
Remove the core, that is quite tough, from each quarter.
Now cut into slices of your desired thickness
If you prefer rings, after peeling the pineapple, use the apple corer to remove the tough core. Turn the pineapple upside down and do the same.
Now you can slice the pineapple into rings.
A fancy way to serve the pineapple is to use the rind as a plate.
Cut the pineapple into quarters, including the crown, cut off the bottom, and make a cut on the woody core, without removing completely.
Separate the flesh from the rind and cut into chunks: then slide them alternately to the left and to the right to make it look like a boat.

  • I hope you can help me. My neighbor - he is Italian, gave me the top part of fennel, a lot of it and I have no idea what to use it for. He said that his wife makes a great spaghetti with sardines and it. If this dish is not familiar to you, maybe you could give me some hint how I can use it. Please:)

  • @kucibaba2 I've never tried spaghetti with sardines and fennel, but it's worth a try! Usually we eat fennel in salads, such as orange and fennel salad, with raisins and pine nuts. But what do you mean with top part of fennel? Because the green part is what we discard...

  • cool accent.

  • What kind of knife are you using? Because it looks like you're cutting through butter during the coring part...that's amazing.

  • wuaw :] You made it look easy o-o

  • @yellowsaffron he gave me the part which you usually discard - yeah the green top part. It looks beautiful and healthy and I cut it and put today to tomato sauce , it was very tasty. I just hoped that it was used in Italy as common dish. Anyway thank you!

  • I always avoided buying pineapples because I didn't know how to pick a good one. Thank you so much for showing how to select one and then take it apart.

  • oh love that intro :)
