Widdecombe: "What's wrong with the 10 commandments?"

    Fry: "Doesn't stop slavery."

Widdecombe: "So there's nothing wrong with the 10 commandments."

Why do people have to be obligated to respect other's beliefs? Why is it acceptable to denounce someone else's political beliefs or denouncing someone who holds beliefs in ancient anliens building the pyramids? Why should any belief automatically be respected? There is a time and place for debate, but if ur shit sounds dumb as hell I am going to say something about it.

I don't know why the planet of Krikkit comes to mind as Fry speaks from 3:08.

Haha, I got it, I remember now. When the people of Krikit managed to launch a spaceship outside of their planet, they noticed the VASTNESS of the cosmos. Their reaction? it all had to go, they had to destroy it all. They could not bare anything that was not Krikit, they would not tolerate anything other than themselves and planet.

You know what's also lacking in the ten commandments? Anything against (child)rape or abuse. Or violence without murder. Hitchens is boss.

Honestly, I think I saw a look of pity in C. Hitchen's eyes for Widdecombe.

The combined intellect of Fry and Hitchens versus the pathetic Widdecomble and a mere bishop... Brilliant.

I hate how Widdecombe won't let Christopher or Stephen talk. I'm like just shut up Widdecombe you are a terrible 'interviewer', you're interviewing not debating. And plus when I hear you I want to gouge my ears out with a rusty spoon. To be honest when I was actually watching the Intelligence Squared I actually skipped her just because of her voice. Also Stephen Fry's way of telling you something is through a story or speech. Let him do that it's how he best communicates.
