Paul will never be elected but I don't think that was his real goal anyway. Paul's true goal is to bring his ideas from the outskirts of society to the mainstream of the GOP. Can any real conversation from either party not involve some form of Liberatarianism? The true role of gov't and individual liberties are no longer fringe ideas to scoff at, and Paul has made sure these conversations will be around long after he has gone.

Chris Mathews knows damn well that the Segregation and Jim Crow laws were government created, and this created a need for Civil Rights law to correct the mistakes of "Separate but equal". The mistake due to Plessy v Ferguson 1897 opened the door for expansion of Jim Crow. Other S American countries that had racism (Brazil, Cuba) did not have to deal with this law. Paul wasn't for the adjusted law because he knew the whole thing was gov't created.
