  • i tell you what it just rained about 3 inches in an hour here in texas. got ryegrass waiting to be cut too. rain is a good thing, but sometimes its horse shit. you know? does that ole melroe work good? looking into buying another seed drill. btw what are you plantin? seems a little cool for hay grazer

  • @HCC886 yeah I have a hard time complaining about the rain but sometimes I wish it could just hold off for a few hours more LOL, the melroe works pretty good but we do have some troubles getting the seed deep enough with the hard clay soil weve got, and we are planting the vast majority of the hay ground to oats, but we are trying out some millet in one of the really small fields

  • @wagner59270 right. we have nothing but black land down here. i did alittle millet last year. made alot of have. but only one cut. it does survive harsher conditions tho. i plant all sudan/sorgum now, get 3 cuts and its plenty thick everytime. 350 lbs of fertilizer per acre too

  • @HCC886 ahh I may have to consider the sudan in another year, how does it survive dry spells and such... none of that fertilizer or sprays for us

  • Must be nice to live far enough out of the cities that it actually gets completely dark.

  • @ahamburger111 it is very nice... even in a town as small as sidney or fairview sometimes it can be hard to see the stars and moon

  • sudan can kill ur cows if it had been dry that year

  • @wagner59270 it does ok in dry spells. and we've never had problems with bugs. i just like the 3 6 foot tall cuts. it cost me abt $20 and acre in seed, 35 an acre in fertilizer. and i make around 3-4 bales an acre per cut. average.

  • @Deereman1010 yeah I know.. I just set up a 250 gallon rain barrel to water my garden. Grrrr Need rain. -does rain dance-

  • Looks like your lights are working good.

  • phil to the rescue!
