1; Give In To Me

The cold September air blew through the city of New York; tourist awed at the beautiful landscapes while others scrambled through the sea of people trying to get to their destination. "Yes Demi, I'm on my way right now" Selena sighed as the loud voice of her best friend demanded that she get the usual from her favorite Starbucks; she inhaled the toxic aroma of the street, taking a minute to recompose herself.

Selena Gomez wasn't the beauty that outshined all her friends; she was simply pretty and cute. All her life she had been the calm and caring girl that sometimes accepted too many demands from her best friend, or like Demi likes to call her 'the sister she never had'. Many would go right ahead and label her as a pushover but she knew that wasn't true, Selena has always worked hard for what she wants; helping Demi out when she cried out for help was just her being a best friend.

The sound of her ringtone brought her back from the quick daze she got herself into, without looking at the screen she answered the phone knowing exactly who was in the other line; "Can you pass by my place and get the scratch book of the desk" Demi pleaded as Selena cringed her eyebrows together trying to figure out a way to get to the other side of town without being too late.

"Yea sure" she jumped into a cab while trying to juggle all her stuff in one hand and her phone in the other. Selena and Demi were partners in their own boutique; Demi designed most of the clothes while Selena deals with the finances. They were the perfect duo. "Selena breathe...breathe" she tried to calm herself down even though she had gotten use to her rushed mornings.

It was twenty minutes past eight, Demi stood in front of her office waiting impatiently for her coffee; as the slim body of her best friend appears through the front doors she can't help but rush towards her, "it's about time you get here, I was dying without my daily caffeine" she sighed frustrated while trying to compose a thank you smile. "Kristal and Sydney just don't stand there gossiping, fix the dam racks or something" she demanded while heading back into her office.

This happened every morning; it had become a daily routine for all of them. "Sorry girls, you know how she is at this time of the day" Selena apologized while sitting down and taking a deep breather, "I brought you guys some lattes" her smile quickly reassure the girls that Selena was by far their favorite boss; they also understood that they could never take advantage of such a nice person like her, mainly because she didn't deserve such harsh treatment.

Demi had become frustrated they are in a deadline for the fall fashion show which meant she is going crazy and her number one thing bitchy "Selena!" pulling herself away from her desk she placed her pen down on the notebook, walking out of her office into hers "we need to get out of here!" Demi continued when she saw her appear.

She stood up "we are going to meet up with Nick" already walking out "oh and Sel, grab my purse" grabbing her purse she walked quickly back to her office to grab her own.

"Make sure to set the alarm, correctly" Kristal stood with her hands pinned to her side and nodded at Demi "and Sydney, please fold these shirts over again, look at them they're horrible!" huffing "c'mon Selena!" smiling politely at the girls "thank you ladies" Selena added as she followed Demi.

They enter the restaurant slash bar that Nick, Demi's boyfriend co-owns with his best friend David Henrie really popular since its been open, the hostess walked up to them "table for two?" Demi took off her sun glasses "do you know who I am?" the guys smile vanished "oh um. ." scoffing "where's Nick?, this is ridiculous!" Selena placed her hand on her shoulder "we're here to meet with Nick and David, she's his girlfriend" his eyes widen "oh okay, right this way".

Demi rolled her eyes and they got escorted to the back of the restaurant at a private table, Nick appeared minutes later "hey Selena" she smiled "hi" his perfectly button down shirt tucked into his black slacks, and his hair comb to perfection "hey babe" he leaned in to Demi who pulled back "you need to fire that hostess!"

David soon joined them, he smiled to Selena then his gaze turned to Demi "we are not firing anyone" taking a seat "Nicholas, I'm serious" he sighed "I'll talk to him" both Selena and David shook their heads.
