The TWU has taken to the cockpit to get the vote out among its Qantas members.

With the help of a little-known Qantas "Captain", we are urging members to vote YES in the Protected Action Ballot to ensure that Qantas standards are protected throughout the company.

Voting YES to protected industrial action is the best way to prevent ongoing attempts to cut and outsource jobs and keeping this great airline in the skies with its reputation intact.

Remember you need to COMPLETE AND POST YOUR VOTE by 19 August 2011.

Ballot papers received by the AEC after Monday 22 August will not be counted.

  • If QANTAS workers are the best paid in the aviation industry to date, why would you put at risk your own future employment prospects.

The current fiscal model QANTAS operates under at present is unsustainable and we are seeing the start of the end of QANTAS as we know it.

I personally don't like Alan Joyce, and the way he has handled these negotiations, but don't under estimate the board which presides over him and what must be done to make this company profitable.

    Beware!

  • MORE POWER to all the unions .. & all the ground-staff .. & all the Aussie Pilots .. in their struggle with this disgracefully inadequate idiot Alan Joyce. What a disaster he is. Should never have been appointed as QANTAS CEO .. way out of his depth. In grounding the airline Sat 29th Oct, his bloody-mindedness reminds me of those gangsters Corrigan/Reith in their 1998 attempt to destroy the AMU. Joyce is a dumb irish paddy foreigner who can't even speak english properly. SACK HIM !!

  • @MrShedbloke I guy his age wouldn't be on 350k. Pilots spend $60k on their licence, then spent years in the bush/desert on $35k if they're lucky. The skilled ones then get offered to fly for regional airlines starting on $50k, but they have to pay $20k for the aircraft endorsement. After another 5 years the really skilled pilots might get into a good airline such as Qantas. After 15 years the extremely skilled and experieced pilots might get offered a Captaincy. They now have 30yrs/1000s oh hrs.

  • im pulling $5-600 a week thats it .. and now they want to pay me less to do the same job

  • that guy is a comedian! he used to be on thank god your here lol

  • A Pilot on $350K (at least) moonlighting as a baggage handler.......BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
