I used to do this a lot myself, there may be multiple ways to do it. I followed your steps until the jump, where I'd always land on the second rivet of the part of the ramp where it curves to go up.

Man Im bummin' I think they took super jumps out of the PC version. I used to be able to nail this shit on the first try back in the day, now I can't do it to save my life :C
