How times have changed. A generation ago it would have been very unusual, if not impossible, to hear a song from Sankey's Songs and Solos sung in a Catholic church. Now it happens regularly, as does the singing of Wesley and Watts' hymns. It seems that, at last, the powers that be in the church have realised that the Holy Spirit does not restrict His work to just one body of believers..

Some of the most moving and ministering music I have ever heard was that which came not from one who's ear was perfect but from one who's heart was in the right place. This was one of those. And (dare I say) in a Catholic Church, too.
Thank you. Having grown up in the Methodist Church and then converting when I married, I have been very pleased with the changes as well I love singing the Wesley hymns, but I have also loved some of the Catholic composers. It is neat that many Protestant churches are using the songs that are played in the Catholic Chruch. Sing, O Sing...
