Sally Ashton is the current Santa Clara County Poet Laureate. Her recent collection, "Some Odd Afternoon" was published by BlazeVOX. Recently, she has organized readings like "Santa Clara County's Favorite Poem Project," and conducted the "Poetry on the Move" contest where the winners have their poems posted on the inside of buses and light rail trains. Sally is reading:

Harvey Birenbaum's, "My Grandfather's Death"
Lorna Dee Cervantes', "Freeway 280"

Her First Published Poem
"Feeding the Cats"

From "Her Name is Juanita"
"WWJD"
"Fourth of Juanita"

From "Some Odd Afternoon"
"How To"

New Poems
"Lost Sonnet"
"And Counting" (Unfortunately, due to technical errors, I couldn't salvage "And Counting")
