Fort Bragg Fireworks 2007 - React to Indirect Fire!

Leave it to Fort Bragg to turn a fireworks display into a training exercise! We were dodging baseball sized balls of colored flames for the duration of the show! I started out photographing the event, but after about the fifth or sixth industrial strength explosive went off on the ground, I decided that it might be a better idea to document in video. Sanchez and McKelroy had front row seats, as close as they would allow us to get to the field. Most people left the area after the first couple exploded low, but I don't think those two even flinched! I didn't leave because I wanted a good view, but I think you can tell where I stood up just after one of the burning embers landed in my lap and burst into about five smaller smoldering embers.

Well I know that they had the area in which you were filming form and where those people were sitting marked off... If was such a big deal about how close they were falling to you ... maybe you should have moved.

You are mistaken. That's not true at all. The boundary markings were marked with engineer tape between the trees along the sidewalk that surrounds the sports field where these were being set off. If you look at the video, you can see the row of trees in front of us. That was the marked off area. The orange cones were only there to keep people from parking in the lot. I suggest you second guess yourself next time you 'know' something.

this is why i always watch fireworks at a proper spot. some locations I seen are closed off due to falling debris.

Alright, if you say so. I was sitting in the road that runs along the P.T. field that they did have block of and a few times I remember seeing the ambers come close but that is a true indication to move and if you didn't then that is on you.

I was over by the old Firestone building and we got hammered there by baseball sized pieces too. My kids had fun collecting the pieces after it was all over.

Nice, I was over in the ice skatings parking lot, getting assaulted by red ants. Kinda lame grand final though, being as the mwr has all that money?!?! j/k
