Global gardens Art Competition and Exhibition 2012

Following on from the outstanding success of the Tall Ships, Darwin 200 and Girlguides Centenary art competitions, we are thrilled to be inviting young artists from all over the UK to send us their art via email on the theme of 'Global Gardens'.

•Paint or use mixed media to create a picture on our theme of 'Global Gardens'.

We have amazing gardens all of the UK and many plants have travelled from far across the planet to make their homes on our island. Cornwall has many sub-tropical gardens and the Gyllyngdune Gardens has been planted with plants from all over the world. Plants have brilliant shapes and colours and are fantastic to paint and draw, so get your art materials out and let us see just how talented you are ! Why not take a look at some of John Dyer's garden and global paintings for inspiration or visit one of your local gardens.

•All of the entries received will join the online art exhibition.

The entries will also be printed out and displayed at the Gyllyngdune Gardens new visitor center during June 2012.

•We will be choosing lots of winners and inviting them to a special event to receive their prizes and meet artist John Dyer on June 21st 2012.
