In this episode of TechBits, I run through overclocking basics. This is not an overclocking tutorial, but rather some helpful hints and information.

  • I dunno why when i overclock my q9300 to 3.2GHz it boots my windows 7 correctly but my win Xp gives me a blue screen when i boot?

  • @brunthroath6912 It's probably not fully stable. It bet Win7 will crash eventually too. But, why are you using both? XP is over 10 years old...

  • i have a p4 2.8ghz HT but my motherboard doesnt have any oc' options for cpu. What software should I use to oc' my p4? I'm new at this and great vid!

  • @tringuyen552911 I generally don't suggest software CPU overclocking, especially on P4s. I don't know the best software to use for your purpose.

  • Hey, i want to overclock my cpu, around 3,0 Ghz is it possible ? maybe i should buy an Water cooling system :)

    and i have a Intel 2 Duo core E6750 @ 2,66 Ghz

my motherboard is an Gigabyte P35-DS4

    sorry for bad english

  • @To33eW Should be possible without water cooling. An after market air cooler would help though.

  • @sciguy14 sry for the late response but i had it running at 3,2GHz at stock cooling system with a loading temp of ~65 Celsius quiet high. and then later I've crashed my motherboard for some reason but not due the overclocking.. so now i'm saving up to buy a new PC :( thanks for tips anyway

  • hey can u give any tips about overclocking a quad core q8300 2.5ghz? i overclockd it d last time when i realized my thermal compund got dissipated.so the fsb multipliers came back to stock values.so if i put back a proper thermal compound, will i be able to overclock it better?

  • @yuniorp8 if i were u i would built a pc and play around with overclocking the cpu and gpu which is what im doing myself. im trying to learn these techniques so i can build a more expensive rig to play new upcoming games and for video editing

  • @Syatek2020 in my experience is impossible to overclocked a laptop since this option is lock on the bios. the cpu is optimized to run at its best under such a cluster environment. there are software that will overclocked the cpu but you will end up causing hardware damage.

  • @yuniorp8 what if i got a cooling pad? would that help keep it cool enough if i overclocked

  • @Syatek2020 is not smart because when you overclocked your cpu gets hotter and on a desktop you switch the stock heatsink but in a laptop you dont meaning your cpu will probably overheat.

  • @4illegalalien Is it overheating or what ?

  • Is it smart to overclock an AW M15x laptop?

  • @4illegalalien You can try to turn up your cpu voltage a bit...

  • What power or fan speed management things can I disable? You mentioned some of them at the beginning. Can I have a bigger list typed down?
