This is NOT a flash mob. Staying Alive did not just HAPPEN to come on muzak. There is no coincidence to having allllll that empty sales floor. Call it what it is, an Up With People version of CPR awareness. NOT a flash mob
I agree and support the message that CPR should be in schools. However I would not call this a "flash Mob" This was pre-planned and I am sure Price Chopper got something out of it. They never leave that much sales space open in any of thier stores, and they did this on a wednesday. If they wanted to get the message out to more people and make an impact, do it on a weekend afternoon or a friday night.
It is a version of CPR called hands only. The number of people that would do CPR if it did not involve bodily fluid contact is much higher than the number of people that will risk some kind of communicable disease without a barrier of some sort. This was a way of increasing awareness of this alternate method. Something is better than nothing.
@diakonradish.. Through work, I took a course in Jan and it was 30 compressions for 30 seconds ..with two breaths. They are saying now it's the compressions that help rather than the breaths. of course anything is subject to change ... if I need CPR i wouldnt get too fussy how they do it. :)
Where was this? Was it in Newburgh?
