OK I don't know about the "fake things grown by american..: but the other stuff I agree with. I believe it is a Biblical thing and that Americans are really wasting their time with people who think rotally different than we do, and that we have no financial stake in that country. I do however feel very terrible for the civillians who are losing their lives to war and not enjoying life.

I don't think her age makes much of a difference. I saw an news report from a very experienced BBC reporter a few days ago. She mentioned that US officers were hopefull that they had the Talibs on the back foot as there had been fewer contacts recently. Anybody who knows anything about Afghanistan knows that the Talibs draw back and disband over the winter to recoup and come back and fight next year.

Agreed. Suggesting that the Taliban would not be able to offer the same level of services as the Karzai government is naive and lacking in real understanding.

Didn't the Russians spend years trying to beat Afghanistan? I think that the USA will leave the country once Osama Bin Laden is located. I just wish no country was at war. Peace.

AS I LOOK AT THE CADETS as the presidents addressed them. I SEE YOUNG FACES. THESE ARE THE NAIVE AND IMPRESSIONABLE. OBAMA IS USING SCARE TACTICS TO JUSTIFY THE ADDITION OF TROOPS IN THIS WAR UNDER THE RUSE OF NATIONAL SECURITY. THIS IS NOTHING NEW. PAST PRESIDENTS HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE. HISTORY WILL DEEM THIS WAR AS A TERRIBLE MISTAKE. MARK MY WORDS. MANY AMERICAN LIVES WILL BE LOST.

Kimberly Kagan is an embarassment. She seems pitifully young, and her prom-do corkscrew hairstyle isn't helping. And where are her ideas? You can repreat truisms emphatically, but they're still empty. KC, you can do better!
