America was founded on people serving one another, what the hell are you talking about. Individual liberty doesnt mean being only concerned for your own little lot in life. Every responsibile citizen SHOULD serve to uplift their country. But whenever someone suggests, hey maybe you should get off your ass and volunteer to do something..no! Outcry! I rather sit on my couch and watch football! Give me a break. If we all did something to serve our country, we wouldnt have the problems we have now!

Im a veteran of the USArmy,and im appalled that you would require anything of americans. No one was required to serve in Iraq. SERVING is the highest cause you can take up. How many of you would actually go serve your country by volunteering at a shelter or orphanage! Most people wont even give money to a homeless man! Obama mentions once the phrase civilian defense force, and you ppl go nuts. Go watch the video, he means serving your community, serving your fellow man in need, and taking time to learn about defense, which was required of every man in rome, greece, and every responsible citizen here should know it too!
