Here's a quick look at Premiere Pro CS4 and AVCHD editing. You'll also get a chance to see AfterEffects Cs4 and Encore Cs4 in action as well. As with all of Adobe's tapeless formats, you can edit directly off of the SD card or cameras Hard drive.Other native tapeless formats include Red Camera,P2, XDCAM EX and now AVCHD. You can always view the high quality version here: http://blogs.adobe.com/davtechtable or http://tv.adobe.com

A quick explanation, Premiere is our video editor for cutting together clips and simple titling while After Effects is for special effects - think animated Photoshop layers.

Not really, After Effects is very effective at cutting video. You can move in/out points but not very quickly. The 2 programs work hand in hand. Look for videos posted about After Effects to get a better idea. look on tv.adobe.com

Marco, yes AE and Motion can handle the effects work . The main difference is that when we re-wrote Premiere Pro we built it around the After Effects SDK (Software Dev Kit) which is why it can open Premiere Project and visa versa. Premiere is designed to cut video fast while AE & Motion are creative tools. Both can trim video be not as fast as Premiere Pro, FCP, or Avid - It really depends on your work.
