Ernie is an original and George Villanueva is sort-of an original (he sang with them very early on). The other three (Herman, Georgie "Tito" S., and Freddie) are more recent members.
Coincidentally, Freddie, the bass, is my dad. No really. and his name isn't Freddie Cobber, it's "Clavel" just like mine. I had no idea this was even on youtube! Pretty sure I was at this show supporting my dad when I was like 17 years old. Then again I've seen this guys about a zillion times. This is ancient. Ha.
I know the guy on the left in the background "Herman Velez" Joined them in the early 70's the bass singer also not original.. the rest i'm not sure. I know there are a couple of originals though...
Does New York remember? Long live rock 'n roll. Thanks, Eternals, for this lost-night classic. I'm only forty eight, but I grew up on the doo-wop shop and ronnie I from Clifton and I think the pockets from pa to south jersey to connecticut to long island all still love their rock n roll the right way, with the sweet harmonies.
this goes out to all the kids at powhattan in the 70s and rex, sex and the makeouts.
miss the sound of alejandro ( ALEX) miranda the original bass
