British Ambassador to the Philippines, Peter Beckingham, apologises for the visa fiasco at British Embassy Visa Section as a result of the explosion in NVQ student applications at the end of last financial year, prior to the start of the new Points Based System rules from 1 April 2009. Entry Clearance Manager Andy Battson explained that the numbers increased from 1,300 to 13,000, a massive steep leap which, added to their new Regional Hub role, has put considerable pressure on their resources. The new rules are expected to improve the visa process, and the resources issue will apparently soon be addressed by the UK Border Agency. http://genealcantara.com
