I don't see the problem with having too many rudiments, if people only ever play 26 and never do anything else then chances are they're a very unimaginative drummer.
The more you play the better, really. Make something up to allow you to play a certain fill and chances are you've made up a rudiment, the more the merrier.

try to put a good accent at the end of the ratamacue
I am 51 years old. When I was 8 I started lessons. There were only 26. By the time I got to college....there were about 34.....now.....you can put any 2 or 3 or 4 together and they are considered rudiments......but they all come from the original 26.

Guys, here's the deal! 1st off, we should thank this drummer for all these vids made in the hopes of helping lay the basic foundation in proper drumming technique for all drummers. I played for many years Professionally & graduated College as a Music Major but as I recall, there REALLY are just 26 Standard American Drum Rudiments. IMHO they've added some - almost TOO many, to the point of redundancy ... tangents of other rudiments - but regardless thanks goes out to this drummer anyway. BRAVO!!
