One of my all-time favorites. My lovely wife Beth still says, "I don't want no fish lookin' up my skirt!"

I was 12 when I heard this (X-mas '82). Didn't know they were parodying 1970s hard-luck soul (e.g., "Papa was a Rolling Stone"), just knew the lyrics were funny and the music was beautiful. I still play this every Christmas. I'm so grateful it's on the web where more people will hear it. RIP Gilda Radner.

Dude, I've had had this record for YEARS! Funny, I thought I was the only person in the world that knew this existed (besides the people that made it)!!! Paul Shaffer I believe wrote and sang the title track.

Damn...this ALL RIGHT. It almost puts me in the mind of some of TAVARES stuff like "She's Gone" (or Hall & Oates if you will).Like I've always said, no SNL cast can EVER touch the ORIGINAL!

I believe that's Christopher Guest talking with Gilda Radner at the beginning and end of this song.
