  • This horse belongs to a friend of mine. He has always been barefoot, but they had recently started the BF trim on him at the time of the video. He is a great horse, I quite like him! (Yes, we do BF trim our own horses though. ;-)

  • Very nice! Horses do not need shoes, just care for their hoofs. well done, I love your video!

  • beautiful, nothing left to say!

If anyone knows a good barefoot trimmer who'd like to go to Egypt even for a short trip and work on the very bad hooves of tenthousands of working equines, please contact me. I know an animal welfare association who would pay the trip and accomodation and a pocket money. Even one or two weeks of good work over there would be great. I've been over there and I can't forget the bad hooves I've seen, not hundreds but thousands.

  • wauw nice heel first landing perrrrfect ;o

  • Its hooves look amazinig for me, I hope that after few courses of "making" hooves naturally and hours spend on doing it will make my horse hooves like hooves of your friend's horse.

  • What a gorgeous, healthy, ground grabbing, shock absorbing heel-first landing!!!

Any farrier who cannot see the perfect physiological expression of truly healthy hooves is not being honest with himself or with the horses he claims to service.

  • @semtech30 The rider probably has shoes on because it isn't fun getting stepped on by a horse with no protection on, a horse has built in protection on his feet that nature designed. Nature put a hoof on a horse similar to a cat's claw- only healthy and useful when used copiously and kept trim- they develop pathology when ignored and left untrimmed and grow too long.

  • Beauuttiffullll! He is a great mover, and to be honest.. properly barefooted horses are better movers than any shod horses :)

See that lovely flick of his feed before they touch the ground? That is him fully extending, due to balanced feed, so he lands heel first :)

    Wonderful!!

  • I love this video, the horse moves awesome.

    We also trim our horses.

    Spain

  • I LOVE THE HORSES SOUND OF HOOVES IDK WHY

  • wow what afloaty trot!

  • @semtech30 If you know horses that have dropped dead over shorter distances then denounce their owners for abuse - they obviously weren´t prepared properly with the correct diet and exercise.

  • @semtech30 @semtech30 I´m not alone. There are 1000´s of endurances horses doing this kind of training and more. There are dressage, grand prix jumpers and steeplechasers all barefoot. The Houston police mounted division has all 36 of their horses barefoot and they work daily on the streets and in the parks - all over the city.
