Anyways looking back, I can see that many on this forum see the same thing. Its funny because its clear that many typing here aren't even Arab but come from Caribbean descent and have no bias to the situation. You on the other hand seem to be a Zionist and have your own agenda that your trying to push, I have dealt with many online. The people typing here, are more aware because they don't listen to media bs and look for unbiased sources of information. Also they understand colonialism
Yes people do immigrate from neighboring countries all over the world and from far as well, hell I immigrated to Canada. The difference is massive illegal immigration and terror tactics (Hagganah, Stern Gang) used on the existing population to pave way for a Jewish state. It would be fine if the goal was to live side by side with the population and honor their quota of acceptable immigration but that was never the goal or the case. It was colonial occupation plain and simple, dont dress it up
13/09/93 yassir arafat on jordanian TV - "since we cannot defeat israel in war, we do this in stages. we take any & every territory that we can for palestine, and establish sovereignty there. and we use it as a springboard to take more. when the time comes, we can get the arab nations to join us for the final blow against israel." said on the very same day he signed the olso peace accords!
i lived there many years & israelis r the most anti-racist ppl i ever known! 5 million ppl from 130 countries, they c u as the same whether u look middle-eastern, european, ethiopian, s.american, or chinese. there's been 63 arab members of the knesset, they represent over 10% of total membership. they hav 9 political parties. some arab members going to libya talking to gadafi, 1 was even in the flotilla fighting against the country! 1.8 million arab citizens with full rights.
palestinians medically treated in israeli hospitals: march-december 2006: 3497. 2007: 7176. january-june 2008: 8796. this is precisely during the time of israel's ceasefire with gaza, also the time period that hamas in gaza fired 4177 rockets targeted at israeli civilians.that's 719000 israelis under threat of their homes, kindergardens, hospitals and schools being bombed [terrorism information center & IMFA]
during 9 whole months of unprovoked attacks, that targeted civilians, israel didn't respond, but threatened to respond. (imagine having ur family threatened evryday by rockets smashing up ur neighborhood, for 9 months, without being able to do anything about it!) during offensives israel sends thousands of leaflets, flyers, phone calls, to resident civilians before attacking that location, warning them to leave, despite risk of terrorists fleeing. in war, this is unheard of!
"The truth is that Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan" - King Hussein of Jordan, interview with the Arab newspaper 'A Nahar Al Arabi', 26th December 1981. Current king of Jordan Abdullah II (son of Hussein), June 2006, following his meeting with Ehud Olmert: "Jordan will never be an alternative homeland to Palestinians. The Palestinian homeland and their state should be on the ground Palestinian and elsewhere".
The Peel Commission report: Arab complaints about Jewish land acquisition were baseless. "Much of the land now with orange groves was sand or swamp &uncultivated when it was purchased" The shortage was "due less to the amount of land acquired by Jews than to the increase in the Arab population." [Palestine Royal Commission, 1937, pp.241-242]
1944: "Jews paid $1,100 per acre in Palestine, mostly for arid land, while rich black soil in Iowa was selling for $110 per acre." [Aumann, p.13]
Jews went out of their way to avoid buying land where Arabs may be displaced. They sought land that's uncultivated, swampy, cheap &without tenants. In 1920, Zionist leader Ben-Gurion expressed his concern about Arab fellahin:"under no circumstances must we touch land belonging to fellahs or worked by them." He wanted to help liberate them from their oppressors. "Only if a fellah leaves shud we offer to buy" [Teveth, Ben-Gurion and the Palestinian Arabs: From Peace to War, 1985, p.32]
