The ninth track of Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog's Commentary: The Musical, All About Me. It's sung by the Extras.

Lyrics:
Maurissa: Here's a tale as old as time and tide,
A simple girl, a wanderer,
Who grew up starry-eyed.

Stacy: You see me for an instant. You see everything inside.

Steve: No matter what the movie tries to hide.

Groupies: It's all about me. It's all about me.

MT: It's Groupie Number One...
SS: Groupie Number Two...
SB: Groupie Number Three!

Groupies: And if I had the screentime I deserve, you'd see,

MT: It's all about me...

Newsreaders: Here's a tale,
that can be told at last.
Of desks that must be sat behind, and news that must be cast.

MN: The moment is so fleeting
DF: But our talent is so vast!

Newsreaders: The so-called "stars" are hopelessly outclassed...

MN: It's all about me,
DF: It's all about me. With all the latest breaking headlines on this tragedy!
MN: And if I had the screentime I deserve, you'd see.
Newsreaders: It's all about me...

RR: They call me "Moving Guy" because I move the audience to tears.
JW: We're not just chorus boys...
Bad Horse Chorus: We've got a story arc and frothy beers.

LL: They'll never know how much I gave,
The film is locked,
The door is shut,
SB: They wouldn't give me final cut,
But
what
you'd
see...

Ensemble: Is all about me
It's all about me
It doesn't matter where I'm listed on I-M-D-B.

DF(?): (It's last) But in the meantime, I think you'll agree,

Finally.

It's all about--

Not them (Oh no, no no, not them)
Not them (Not them, not them, not them)
Not them (Pay no attention to them!)
Not them (They're not the stars I am!)
Not them!

  • @soradg a little bit.

  • Noxon/Fury ftw

  • Does anyone else think that parts of this sound like parts of "Rest in Peace" from "Once More With Feeling"?

  • Haha I love this song. And I really can relate, playing just one of those extras in a Dr. Horrible adaptation at my high school right now.

  • It's very fitting that David Fury sings the line "But our talent is so vast". His voice is amazing.

Although, he insists his name is listed last on IMDb's site. But Marti Noxon's is. Someone should let the IMDb staff know!

  • I love Stacy's voice :)

  • Wow. I guess I never saw it from the perspective of people who don't matter.

  • @Dylnuge when he sings "They wouldn't give me final cut," he means that they wouldn't let him decide what the final edit (i.e., what should be left in, what should be edited out, etc.) should contain, not that he was actually cut out of the production.

  • @HamishM150 Listening to it, the SB at the end does sound like Steve, even though he was in it. LL sounds like a female voice though, so I'm not so sure about that one.

  • @Dylnuge - "SB" is Steve Berg, "Groupie No. 3". "LL" is presumably Lance W. Lanfear, credited as "Hawaiian Shirt Guy"
