Cows can live to be twenty. On a factory Farm or a free range they live to be five tops. Every male calf they have is taken away and raised for a miserable two days to six weeks for veal. Babies and their mama's bellow out for each other days on end. So yes Milk does hurt the cow.

  • learn your facts before you speak. you know nothing about the dairy industry. if a cow only lives till she is 5 on a ordinary farm then why do we and many other farmers have cows that are 13 years old! . cows will not live to twenty because they always take a weak heart when they are 15 years old. u stupid cunt

  • @spuds209 "u stupid cunt." Nice. I have been vegan for 9 years... and I know exactly what I am talking about.

  • cows teeth will only last them around 14 years, then they slowly starve to death

  • @depsterboy How long do a human biengs teeth last them?

  • Milk does me good. i drink it everyday Hmmmm .. Delicious :)

  • @TheUnExpectingNwh I guess when you get heart disease and have to have open heart surgery like my Dad, then you will understand how milk doesn't do ANYBODY good. Take care.

  • I LOVE being vegan! I could never go back to drinking milk or eating beef again. Just the thought of it makes me sick. :(

  • Note that whether on a factory farm, or on a small-scale organic farm, the animals are still exploited, and "spent" cows and male calves are given the same fate. We don't need milk or any other animal product for good health. The answer is not to reform these exploitive industries, but to abolish them and go vegan. Anything else just reaffirms the speciesist mentality that animals are instruments for us to use, not sentient individuals to be respected. Great video, Christina.

  • @fxyvgngrl <3 me too!

  • @PetKeepingTips Do you know that the cow is kept pregnant year after year, cycle after cylcle, to keep her lactating?? What happens to the calf... It is taken from the mother the day of or the day after birth. If the cow is female she is kept to become a dairy cow too, if the cow is male, he is sent to become veal. There is no such thing as a friendly dairy farm.

  • @jaderx7 WOW. Um firstly, language. You have just shown yourself to be one. Secondly, what do you believe?? What evidence or education do you have under your belt to say something like that?? Read any studies on milk and the human diet? EVER? Or perhaps you just got brainwashed at birth like the rest of them, by who? OH YEAH, the dairy industry, who make a crap load of money selling people like YOU, death. Choke on your cows milk would you.

  • Good video! Attracting so many malicious comments means you've hit the non-vegans where it hurts! Ignore the trolls and keep going :)

  • Captions along the way would make this even better, explaining the veal industry....Right or wrong, though, cows are a product of genetic manipulation, by humans, for humans. The older original breeds do not produce milk in quantity, hence these unfortunate unnatural beings.

  • @spuds209 I think you must be on the wrong thread. Keep searching for the 'mentally challenged', which would be more appropriate for you.

  • OK im a vegetarian not vegan because not all farms are like this i have so many good friends who have farms and they do not torture their cows they milk them but it does not hurt the cow they milk by hand so why don't people show videos promoting small family farms that do stuff the right way

  • We don't need milk, but we need meat for our bodies to function properly, healthily and at full performance.

  • I hope poeple understand that not all farms are like this..... I know because I live on a farm not all farmers are horrible monsters imcapable of all feeling ... and we dont treat our cows like this our cows are alowed to go outside onto grazing pasture whenever they want If you dont belive me I can prove it

one of my favorites favorites will come up to you and try to shove her head in your hood she lets you putt your arms around her neck and hug her she also follows us around like a puppy

  • @spuds209

Factory Farms are the farms referred to, where a cow is lucky to live to the age of 5. Some farms are not factory farms, and they may choose to keep cows longer. But with all factories, profit is to be maximized and cows can only stay constantly pregnant and in the prime of milk production for a short while-after that, milk and profit decline which means the cow dies. You can even Google the term Factory Farm and find basically the same info I've given you.
