David Rensin's 475-page megabiography "All for a Few Perfect Waves: the Audacious Life and Legend of Rebel Surfer Miki Dora" will be published by Harper April 7
By speculating that Miki sold drugs is rather assinine if you think about it.There was a man that prized his personal freedom above all else.Good book good read I think it the book gives a good look into the culture that could support the Man the Myth the LEGEND of a guy that came to be one of the great counter coulture hero's of my time.
Miki was NO CROOK. Because he didn't give a krap about political correctness, joes like this triple-chinned burger-hound feast on him now, but in his day, this "David" would be running like a monkey with his tail on fire, because Miki would clobber this clown if he caught him. The Jewish community didn't impress Dora yet almost every name you hear from those days was a Jew. Sweet, Velzy, Aaberg, Webber... Miki was an inconsummate adventurer and citified-clowns like this author were his nemesis.
Since I've only talked with David via the telephone, this interview gives me a face to go with the voice. To "mitsille" in all the time I knew Miki he didn't use drugs and wasn't part of the drug dealing scene. In fact, was very conscious and careful of what he ate and drank. However, he DID like good wine.
In the book his Dad seemed like a real gentleman-there for Miki till the end. Such a shame Miki thought his surfing was the only loyalty he knew. It's not said in the book but fact- he was also a pioneer drug runner. How the hell did he surf from country to country without running drugs? BIG GAP IN THE BOOK!

Fabulous book. It neglects to mention what Dora's sleeping patterns were. Did he sleep well?

That is mentioned in the book. Most of the traveling was done through credit card fraud.
