Please enjoy Teresa's performance of "春の雪 (Haru no Yuki)", meaning "snow in spring", originally sung by 石川さゆり (Ishikawa Sayuri). (Oka Chiaki) composed the song, and 吉岡治 (Yoshioka Osamu) wrote the lyrics.
This is a song of a lady who carries a torch for her lover staying apart from her. She misses him and cannot give up a lingering affection, over alcohol which she does not like. There is a spring snowfall outside.
The following are the Japanese lyrics, with my English translation.
Aishitenakute yokatta to
( "You are correct to have not been in love")
Tataku senaka no itoshisa nikusa
(The snow strikes my back affectionately and detestably as if to comfort me)
Kobushi no nakade hara hara to naku yuki wa
(The snow that quietly weeps in my fist)
Yume no nagori ka omoide ka
(is just like afterglow of my dream or memory)
Tsukande hakanai aa haru no yuki
(My grasped snow (love) has a short life. Ah, the spring snow)
Dakarete iai amaetai
(I want to be kept embraced and spoiled)
Yuki ga anata no ato oikakeru
(The snow chases you)
Nomenai sake ni horo horo to yoishirete
(I get drunk with unaccustomed Sake (alcohol))
Miren de shouka hitorizake
(lingeringly alone)
Akirame kirenai aa haru no yuki
(I cannot believe that it is all over. Ah, the spring snow)
Karada wo hitori moteamasu
(I am wondering what to do with myself)
Minna anata no anata no seiyo
(That is all because of you)
Negaeri uteba hara hara to yuki ga mau
(The snow flies quietly when I turn back)
Yoru ni hito kou hana ni naru
(and becomes a flower that falls for a man at night)
Anata ni aitai aa haru no yuki
(I want to see you. Ah, the spring snow)
Teresa Teng and Ishikawa Sauri are so great both.I,m fan of them BUT they are different,Teresa have much more love and emotion in her voice.Ishikawa very good singer but no so much emotin as Teresa have."Teresa feel as she sing" (quotation) Both are them very important to me but different way.

Ishikawa Sayuri, I consider, sings her songs much more emotionally. Teresa sings this song rather at a flat tone. Don't you think so?

Thank you for your comment.
It is surprising to know that the temperature in Melbourne today peaked at 44C.
