America is believed to be negotiating a secret deal with Iraq. One that perpetuates the military occupation of Iraq indefinitely. The new deal, if it goes through, would grant the Americans a right to use more than 50 bases in Iraq, indefinitely. It also means immunity for the US troops and contractors against the Iraqi law. A free hand to carry out military activities without the approval of Baghdad. How would such a deal impact Iraq in the long run?

I had to laugh at the comment of Ayotollah Kazam Al Haziri about the US wishing to "continue to plunder Iraqs resources." If only the US could have a go at plundering Iraq's resources then they could recover some of the trillions of dollars the war and reconstruction has cost.
