KOF XX preview: Billy Lee, Jimmy Lee

This is the first of several videos showing off the characters for my KOF XX project. KOF XX is a new fighting game I am making for the UFGE engine. It will feature SNK characters and characters from other video games in SNK style. The current project and all updates can be found at http://maximoff.alreadyread.net/kowtf . This game is a half tribute, half parody of the KOF series and 1990's arcade fighting game era. Although, I originally intended to make 2 man tag teams (which is why the tag previews are showing the characters off as tag teams), I decided to just stick to making it a one on one fighter.

The Lee brothers from Double Dragon actually started as an attempted Beats of Rage project. I completed 4 characters, then just gave up on it. However, I kept the sprites and decided to convert them to UFGE characters.

Double Dragon has been one of my favorite arcade games, and I always wanted to make a Double Dragon fighting game, because I was always dissapointed in the three games that were out there. It was like they just had Billy, Jimmy, and a half assed attempt at Abobo and a bunch of other characters.

For Billy Lee, I based his moveset on Double Dragon 2, and for Jimmy, I gave him moves based on Double Dragon 3 and Double Dragon Advance.

Sweet video, man! Looks like you've captured both their Arcade looks and their home console looks quite well! I could tell! The Billy with brown hair and the red shirt underneath looks a lot like Kenshiro from Hokuto no Ken. Aka, Fist of the North Star.

Thanks, although the Fist of the North star alternate pallete was unintentional. I was actually going for the Double Dragon V colors. However, considering the connections between Fist of the North Star and Double Dragon it is pretty appropriate.

As far as the looks go, you did a nice enough job for characters who don't have a consistent look. :P This is a really neat project.
