This is a bit of a longer video of me testing out an island map to see how well map generation is coming along in the upcoming PC strategy game, Elemental that is due out August 24, 2010.
Clean indeed, but what you sacrifice by that is art, which is a shame. There are tons of ways to retain art and still have it look clean, varied grass-textures for instance rather than a flat colour.
@ridjf: Nah this isn't Risk at all. It is a turn based strategy but not in the style of risk. The only D&D thing I can think of would be the fantasy/customization. Otherwise I wouldn't compare it to those games.
Think more Master of Magic/ Heroes of Might and Magic type of a game

I love the city tree. What a great way to keep the game fun as opposed to burdensome micromanaging.
I'm really looking forward to this game!
@xMajigerx
I think it's probably closer to Age of Wonders. There you played a sovereign over an empire with hero's - special units who led armies.
Heroes of Might and magic is more like Kings Bounty. In those games the strategy is all in the battles. Not empire vs. empire.
