  • Do they have donkey rides in Shanghai? You have to ride a donkey on 'ollidee!

  • @BonseBalm haha! Well if I see a donkey in Shanghai I'll definitely have to ride it now won't I lol!

  • I would suggest joining a tour from whatever hotel you're staying. They should have info. I lived there for two years and it is a HUGE place. Since you're a foreigner, joining a small tour for...let's say a cruise dinner on Pudong River is a must. It saves time. Most people treat foreigners well over there so don't be afraid to ask around. Unless you have lots of time and don't speak Chinese, it is cheaper to have a guide to show you around.

  • @edwardtang1977 thanks :) My friend can speak Mandarin, so asking for directions etc should be ok. I'd consider a tour guide if prices are reasonable since the place is so big for sure. Anything in particular you'd recommend I definitely see/do whilst there?

  • @locksleynet hmm..for Shanghai...Yu Garden, Jin Mao tower or the newer Shanghai World Financial Center, the oriental pearl tower might be expensive nowadays. Shanghai Museum and Shanghai Acrobat show. The nightlife there is quite cool. Nanjing Road (shopping). For Beijing..the Great wall of course and the forbidden city...Tiananmen Square...try the food especially Peking duck ! If you have time for Kung fu ha...Have fun!

  • @edwardtang1977 thanks! I'm not sure I'll have time for the Kung Fu, but I'll definitely try to see the rest :)

You should visit Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, night boat trip on the Huangpu river...there are a lot of choices of different restaurants to meet western and eastern taste.
