WESTIES are smart, hunters by nature, loud, busy, difficult to walk until they are really adults (6yo), kind, happy dogs, need attention, lots of walks, they have a lot of energy when young, are prone to skin allergies and Addison's Disease. They are great dogs, but if you have a quiet personality, who doesn't like to play a lot and spend their energy, you''re better off with another breed. Or try fostering an adult Westie. They are very loving and lovable.

I have a Westie named Snowcone. She's a good little dog, but as soon as you let her off the leash, she's gone, and won't come back for anything! Had a few near-heart attacks because of it. It's true that they're very curious dogs!

My family is thinking about fostering a Westie, (we've never had a dog before, however I love all types of dogs and my moms friend happens to be familiar with a Westie rescue) If there are any comments/ tips or suggestions you could give me that would be great!
