  • Very informative. You have a new subscriber. I will be referencing these videos when I'm done my Insanity program and go back to a gaining regiment.

  • hey you!..yeah you...you deserve to have your teeth busted out!

  • There are hundreds of different variations of the bench press. All are good. Some are not worth the risk, unless you are a 1000lb bencher trying to get to 1005lbs.

This is one variation I would avoid, unless I made a living bench pressing, which only 3-4 people in the whole world do. The only other thing worse would would be a reverse grip bench. That's just asking for trouble.

  • @Elreypachuco He's just trying to accentuate how there is no reason for poor form and perform the exercise improperly. There's innumerable sources of information on how to bench on the internet, books, other people, articles, etc. There really is no reason to do things such as bounce the bar at lockout aimlessly. Dave isn't wishing anyone harm in any way, he is simply stating that if you partake in actions that are risky and not how the lift is meant to be performed, accidents will happen.

  • @Elreypachuco coming from a guy who has actually had his teeth knocked out for no legitimate reason I think Dave Tate has the freedom to throw that phrase around if he feels like it.

  • @Elreypachuco i think he means the bar will fall out of the guys hands and literally knock their teeth out...so if your jerking the bar like a monkey and are using a false grip, YES you deserve to have your teeth knocked out. EVERYONE deserves to have their teeth knocked out simply FROM using bad form.

  • Glad I found this video..Great info Dave

  • By the way, this was a very informative video explaining the benefits of using the false grip, some of which I already knew. Nonetheless, I don't think I'll be attempting it anytime soon. I'd rather not take the risk.

  • LOL... NO ONE deserves to have their teeth knocked out simply for using bad form. EVERYONE fucks up on their form on their first tries on any given exercise, but that doesn't mean they're complete folish idiots. That just means inexperience and noboby should be punished because of that fact alone.
