that is part of the spindle speed such as m3 s2000 or in reverse m4 s2000

Depending on the tool I switch out the M3 command for M4

What command is used to reverse the motor in Mach 3?

Hello there, the speed feedback is made by the controller? or the Tach seen in the motor shaft goes to the PC parallel port? and is controlled by the mach3? I mean, do you use any input to the PC? Great Explanation!!!

@lyntoncnc
The speed feedback is coming from a CNC4PC C3 -index pulse card that connects to an input on the Breakout board for the parallel port. What I have done is used the index card as a tachometer so that Mach3 can calibrate the pulses to the correct speed of the motor within a few RPM. It is certainly close enough for milling.
I use a CNC4PC c11g board going to a C3 index card.
