  • Astonishing!!!

    Absolutely sublime!!!

    Brava!!!Caballe

The Four Last Songs sang by a Goddess, with the most beautiful voice that ever existed.

  • Nonsense: Mme Caballé speaks fluently german! She is an instument with the other instruments in the orchestra! And A.Lombard and Philharmonic of Strasbourg at the great time!!!!!!!!!!! (subsidiary: taste is one thing and subjective. Style is something objective)

  • Beautiful song sung beautifully. Caballe is amazing. Her love-duets LP with Domingo remains my favorite recording of all time.

  • This is very beautifully sung by Caballe. She has a deep understanding of the 4 Last Songs and Strauss' music. She is still considered one of the best Salomes along with Nilsson. Her voice has wistful, magical legato and she sings with reverence and even a "holy" voice, thanks to the slow "eternity" themed conducting pace by Alain Lombard. This is terrific, even as great as Jessye Norman's legendary version.

  • Call me crazy, but, I've always thought that, anyobe able to sing this song well, must be out of this world... it's so much beauty, I think I can't handdle it! I'm too small!

  • beautifully sung!

Orchestra could have had a bit more diction, though,,,

going through all the versions i can find, in the meantime painting my house, and still find fleming/eschenbach the one i like most

    but who am i?...

  • This casts a spell. Mesmerizing.

  • jopetas, no lo había visto, no tengo perdón.

  • She sang and recorded Salome numerous times. She also sang Arabella by Strauss, and Caballe, if you read her autobiography mentions that Strauss is her favorite composer and that Salome is her favorite opera.
