Orpheus Research Centre in Music , Ghent Belgium
- the first international artistic research centre in Flanders and Europe.
On Thursday February 12, 2009 the 'Orpheus Research Centre in Music' was officially opened by Flemish Minister of Economics, Enterprise, Science, Innovation and Foreign Trade Mrs. Patricia Ceysens.
Official speakers were: Peter Dejans (director of the Orpheus Institute), Johannes Johansson (President of the European Assocation of Conservatoires AEC) and Mrs Patricia Ceysens, Flemish Minister of Science and Innovation.
Three artist-researchers from the Orpheus Research Centre in Music presented their research project: Mr. Hendrik Vanden Abeele, Mrs. Mieko Kanno and Mr. Juan Parra.

The Orpheus Research Centre in Music aims to develop a discipline specific research discourse for musician-researchers. ORCiM selected an international team of excellent musician-researchers which forms the backbone of the research centre.
